Once you confirm pickup, a licensed tow operator collects the vehicle and delivers it to a regional auction or recycler, whichever produces the higher return for that specific vehicle. A ten-year-old sedan that runs generally goes to auction; a stripped or flood-damaged car usually goes to a certified recycler for scrap and parts value.
The processing team completes the transfer with the state. You are no longer the registered owner once the transfer clears, which is why filing your release of liability promptly matters.
