Preparing Your Car for Donation Pickup in 30 Minutes

A 30-minute routine to get your car ready for donation pickup — what to remove, what to gather, and what you can skip entirely.

Minute 0–10: Empty the Car

Glove box, trunk, center console, door pockets, visors, under the seats. Remove toll transponders, garage remotes, charging cables, and child seats you want to keep. Check for documents with personal information.

Minute 10–20: Gather Paperwork

Find the title and sign it exactly as instructed when you scheduled — a wrong signature is the top cause of pickup-day delays. Put the title, keys, and your ID in one place. Note your pickup confirmation details.

Minute 20–30: Access and Plates

Move anything blocking the vehicle. Note gate codes or obstacles for the driver. Remove license plates if your state requires it (the team can confirm your state's rule). That's it — no cleaning, no repairs, no detailing needed.
