Lost Titles Are Common — and Fixable

If you can't find the title, don't cancel the donation. Your state motor vehicle agency issues duplicate titles, usually for a small fee. In many cases we can schedule pickup while the replacement is in process. Call (888) 579-5544 first — the team handles this situation weekly.

Titles With Liens or Loans

If a lender still holds the title, the loan generally must be paid off and a lien release issued before transfer. If the loan was paid but the title was never updated, request the lien release from the lender — it's routine paperwork.

Inherited and Deceased-Owner Vehicles

Vehicles in a deceased relative's name usually need a death certificate and either probate documents or your state's small-estate/affidavit process. Requirements vary by state, so call before scheduling and we'll walk you through what donors typically need.
